And the baby sleeps!

Last night for the first time in 71/2 months I slept 8 hours straight. I had the most amazing feeling today, Victory!! There are amazing things you can do with 8 hours of straight sleep.

Or should I say there are things you CAN NOT do without sleep.

Go to the grocery store and BRING the groceries home with you.
Leave for the grocery store and MAKE IT THERE, this requires remembering where you are going once in the car.
Going to the grocery store for bread and coming home with bread, and this time it's not because you bought it and left it there. Again, Memory is very important even for small tasks.

The best of all..

Driving yourself to and FROM the grocery store. Cars should unlock to the sound of your voice. Someone should tell Zack and Kate that keys are way over rated.

Specialized training?

This is what Zack and Kate thought of the loud man conducting the train while screaming into the microphone at the zoo. Do you think he is the only train conductor they have or should we give it another try? I am sure it is some sort of special job. A coveted position.

oops!

It looked something like this but she wasn't naked. She was dressed in a beautiful brown and pink polka dot dress with tights that had ruffles.

On Sunday we went to church for the second time in 7 months. There we were on the last row all dressed up, when I decided to prop Kate in the corner of the bench. Bad idea!!

Why-There are so many reasons. Need I even list them.

Zack started to cry so I grabbed a toy to entertain him when suddenly down went Kate. Yes I put my baby who is 7 months old in the corner of a wooden bench and turned away. Luckily she fall onto the diaper bag and then on to the floor.

Not a mark on her. Yet.

Easter blues for Wade

Yesterday as Wade and I were in the kitchen he looked over at me and said "next year we really will have to celebrate Easter". I'm not quite sure what he meant by this but I am offended on so many levels. I LOVE Easter.

3:03 a.m.

Me- "Wade I hear one of the babies"
Wade- "Well are they crying?"
Me- "It's your turn go see what's wrong"
Wade- "Are you sure they are awake"
Me-"Please just go check, I can hear them"

3 minutes later

Wade- "They are both sound asleep"
Me- "Sorry I must have been dreaming"

This happens about three times a week. I always dread the next morning. Sorry.

Dental hygienist?

That's right my friends I am a dental hygienist. Why is that relevant? Because today I sat for an hour and a half in the pediatricians office for the Dr. to tell me that nothing was wrong with Zack. Two weeks ago when the pediatrician told me Zack had an earache I actually shouted "YES"! When the Dr. looked at me like I was crazy I explained that if nothing was wrong with Zack he was going to need a new mommy. So, I was relieved. Last night Zack and I cuddled SEVEN times. You heard me SEVEN!!! After the Dr. couldn't find a thing wrong with Zack my eyes started to tear up. Please I was thinking. PLEASE find something wrong with him.

Later that day Wade woke me up from a nap holding both Zack and Kate and said "Zack show mommy your surprise". I looked at his face for a scratch, bruise or bump but couldn't find anything. That's when I grabbed him and started giving him a million kisses. "YES" a tooth.

And I do what for a living?

Flashback Fridays

Fridays will be dedicated to flashbacks.

I hope I get the hang of this blogging thing and fun funky pictures will be included in flashback Fridays. Any ideas for flashbacks let me know. I would LOVE to hear.

With Easter on it's way I will share an Easter flashback dating back to 1989. There was snow on the ground, lots of it. I had on my new Easter dress, the one that matched my sister Jackies. I never got to pick out our Easter dress, I just always wanted the same one that she had. It's as if at that age I was powerless to choose for myself because as soon I saw the dress she had on nothing and I mean nothing could compare.

This year was special because not only did we wake up to an Easter Egg Hunt, new dresses and lots of candy, our Easter Baskets were made out of nothing but candy cane. You heard me Candy Cane!

It's the only Easter basket I remember to this day. A kid never forgets an Easter Basket that can be enjoyed for weeks and weeks.

How sweet it is

How sweet it is to hold a sleeping baby.

How I long for a singleton (not anytime soon)! What's a singleton you ask? It is when you get to enjoy being pregnant with only ONE baby and you can hold that ONE baby as long as you want whenever you want. I had a singleton moment today! While Zack was napping Kate fell asleep in my arms and for the first time in 7 months I got to hold her while she slept without any other distractions. I tried not to move an inch and although I thought my arm was going to fall off I was not about to risk waking her. I was praying that Zack would just keep on napping so that I could hold Kate forever. It was pure heaven, especially because she is not my cuddly baby. I could cry just writing about it.

Will I ever know what it's like to have a singleton? Do you really have moments like that daily?

On the other hand Kate has laughed really hard twice today at Zack. They make each other laugh all the time and I get to experience it with them.
